In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate.

“We send down (stage by stage) in the Qur’an that which is a healing and a mercy to those who believe: to the unjust it causes nothing but loss after loss.” [Quran 17:82]

The Qur’an, the holy book of Islam, is the ultimate source of guidance for Muslims all around the world. Its importance in Islam cannot be overstated, as it is the word of Allah revealed to His Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) over 1400 years ago. The Qur’an is considered to be the most sacred text in Islam and is the foundation of Islamic faith, law, and ethics. The Qur’an contains the principles of Islam and guides Muslims in every aspect of their lives.

Truly, everything that is connected to the Qur’an becomes elevated. The words of Allah have the power to transform individuals and communities, and this is evident throughout Islamic history. Jibreel alayhi sallam, the Angel who brought down the Qur’an to Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), became known as “The Chief of Angels” and “The Trustworthy Spirit.” The Qur’an elevated Jibreel to such an extent that he is revered and respected by all Muslims as one of the closest beings to Allah.

Similarly, the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), upon whom the Qur’an was revealed, became the greatest of all Prophets and Messengers. He (ﷺ) was chosen by Allah to receive the final revelation and was bestowed with the responsibility of delivering it to humanity. The Qur’an elevated him to such an extent that he is now the most influential person in human history, and his teachings have changed the lives of billions of people around the world.

The Ummah of Muhammad (ﷺ), to whom the Qur’an was sent, became the best of all Nations. The Qur’an elevated the Muslim community to a status of prominence and excellence, and Muslims were given the responsibility of carrying the message of Islam to the world. The Qur’an guides Muslims on how to live their lives, interact with others, and fulfill their obligations towards Allah.

Laylatul Qadr, the night on which the Qur’an was revealed, became the best of all Nights. It is said that during this night, the angels descend to earth, and Allah grants the supplications of those who seek His forgiveness. Muslims around the world spend this night in worship and supplication, seeking the blessings and mercy of Allah.

The month of Ramadan, the month in which the Qur’an was revealed, became the mightiest of all months. During this month, Muslims fast from dawn till dusk and engage in various acts of worship, including reading the Qur’an. The Qur’an is recited in mosques and homes all over the world, and Muslims strive to complete the recitation of the entire Qur’an during this month. The Qur’an elevates this month to a status of unparalleled significance, and Muslims eagerly await its arrival every year.

As our beloved Prophet (ﷺ) stated, “The best of you are those who learn the Qur’an and teach it.” [Sahih Bukhari: 5028]

The Qur’an is not just a book to be recited, but it is also a book to be understood and acted upon. Muslims are encouraged to study the Qur’an and reflect on its teachings, and those who teach others the Qur’an are held in high esteem in Islamic society.

Truly, by Allah, besides whom there is no other God, the Qur’an has the power to transform a human heart, making them the best among all others. The Qur’an is a source of guidance, inspiration, and comfort for Muslims, and it has the power to elevate individuals and communities to a status of excellence and prominence. Muslims all over the world continue to turn to the Qur’an for guidance, and it remains an unchanging source of truth in a rapidly changing world.
